Dermica Pen advanced skin needling

The Dermica Pen Micro needling system is the newest type of dermal needling currently on the market. It is used to rejuvenate the skin and as part of an anti-ageing routine helps to stimulate new collagen and elastin, which helps us look younger for longer!

How does it work?

The Dermapen is a hand held device about the size of a pen, it has a piece that is inserted into the top of the device, and this piece contains needles. These tiny needles penetrate the skin at different levels- depending on the depth of scar or type of condition you are treating. This micro injury causes new collagen and elastin to form and it helps with the breakdown of old collagen. This leads to smoother, more refined skin and a reduction in wrinkles due to the skin tightening effects of the treatment.

Does it hurt?

Prior to your DermaPen treatment, we apply a layer of anaesthetic gel until your skin is numb; this makes the whole process pain free. You will feel the DermicaPen on your skin, so you will feel sensation, but not pain.

How long does the treatment take?

When you arrive we remove any traces of make-up or oil from your skin, then we will apply the anaesthetic, this usually takes 20 mins on average to numb the skin. We remove the gel and we apply a product as a glide medium to the skin, the needling of the skin usually takes no more than 30 minutes, but this depends on the area you are having treated.

How many treatments will I need?

Whilst you will see a positive change in your skin after just one treatment, we do however advise between 2-4 treatments, this is especially necessary if you are treating acne scarring or uneven skin tone or wrinkles.

What conditions does Dermica Pen treat?

Post Acne Scarring (pitting)
Atrophic Scarring (Chickenpox, traumatic)
Raised Fibrous Scars
Specific Lines and Wrinkles
Full-face Skin Rejuvenation
Enlarged Pores
Stretch Marks.
Red veins/Rosacea.

What are the benefits?

Less pain and redness post treatment
More effective treatments
Easier to manoeuver around the face
Needle depths vary to treat a variety of conditions from rejuvenation to scarring
Easy to treat under the eyes
Minimal down-time
Disposable needles

What is the down time?

Immediately after your treatment your skin will appear red, and feel tight as the anaesthetic wears off, most people say it feels like mild sunburn on their skin. The skin often feels tighter. The redness usually dies down within a day or two.

Skin Peels

Many skin problems are associated with an excessive build up of dead skin cells, which make the skin
thick and dull, usually clogging the pores.

Skin peels can offer a revolutionary way to effectively treat ageing skin; acne; and reduce sun damage and hyper pigmentation. This procedure can also help the skin to appear smoother, healthier, plumper and tighter.

We offer non glycolic Agera Peels which are highly effective peels. A consultation with a specialist nurse will help us recommend the very best treatment for you. Most people combine their skin peels with Microdermabrasion for even better results.

Agera Skin Peel Explained

Our Agera skin peels are non glycolic so they do not require pre prepping of the skin. This type of
skin peel is pain free, non-irritating and doesn’t cause your skin to shred. Agera skin peels are unique
because they work deep within the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin and
encourage cell renewal.

  • Improves the appearance and condition of the skin
  • Dead skin cells are replaced by healthy ones improving clarity and brightness
  • Carried out by a Nurse who is highly skilled and trained in skin peels

Agera anti-ageing skin care has been scientifically proven to penetrate and stimulate the skin for rapid, visible results.

Agera anti-ageing skincare action.

The revolutionary proliferative peels created by Agera are non-irritating, pain free and cause no down time from skin shedding, redness or irritation. These unique treatments cause significant stimulation of the fibroblasts deep within the skin to produce new collagen and elastin. This proliferative effect on the skin’s cells delivers many anti-ageing benefits without any unsightly skin shedding or redness.

After only one session, the skin will look clearer, smoother and brighter.

For maximum results a course of Agera skin peels can be combined with  microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion (MDA)

Is a quick, safe, effective form of exfoliation for all skin types and colours with no downtime and no pain or discomfort.

It uses a diamond-tipped applicator with a slight suction to remove dead or damaged skin cells. Skin will appear softer, smoother, brighter, clearer, fresher and younger looking.

Benefits

  • Everyone can benefit from microdermabrasion – men and women.
  • Skin that is aging, congested, flaky, dry, devitalized, thickened, blemished, dull and sun damaged can be rejuvenated and refreshed.
  • Blotchiness, uneven skin tones and texture will also be improved.
  • Even normal skin can be made to look fresher with a warm glow.

The most common areas that are treated are the face and neck.

In addition we can treat the chest, shoulders, back, hands, knees and elbows. Any body area can be treated.
